Youth Offending – The local authority role in integrating youth justice and children’s services
|

Tuesday 10 February 2004
Local Government House, Westminster

Recent focus on services for children and youth justice is creating a changed framework in which local authority youth offending services operate. The Government’s youth crime agenda and proposals regarding children’s services (highlighted by the recent Youth Justice Next Steps paper, the Children at Risk Green Paper, the Children’s Green Paper and the Government’s response to the Laming inquiry) will all have an impact on delivery of youth offending services at the local level.
This one-day conference will consider the national agenda and the impact on local authority Youth Offending Services. It will focus on how youth justice connects to the children’s agenda and the strategic leadership role within authorities to enable delivery of the Government’s objectives.
