All local authorities face fraud, whether internally generated or through benefits or other services. This one-day conference examines the action a local authority should take following the application of sanctions and prosecution. The conference focuses on recovery of funds and the rebuilding of confidence. Presenters will discuss solutions and good practice procedures that should be followed in order to support the fraud investigation process for both high levels of soft fraud and serious planned fraud. Specific focus is given to recovery proceedings and the use of publicity.
The conference is designed in modular form so authorities may select to attend the full conference or just one of the in-depth afternoon conference streams focusing on recovery or media handling.
