Visionary Network is the new way to provide continual professional development for local authority professionals.

This is the third series of online seminars for local authority benefits and revenues managers. In addition to 10 monthly seminars, this season also includes 10 monthly updates on legislation and good practise as well as membership of the Visionary Network benefits and revenues forum.

The objective of this service is provide an affordable way to deliver and exchange information and best practice as well as to support the continual professional development of those working in the public sector.

The seminars will last for just under an hour, they will usually consist of a presentation lasting about 30 minutes followed by online questions put directly by the delegates.

Except for April and August, a monthly in-depth online seminar will be hosted on an issue of importance to those listed as suggested attendees. Each seminar will last approximately one hour and can be attended by any nominee of a subscribing authority.
Topics to be covered include;

• the impact of welfare reform

• strategic management of revenues and benefits

• customer care

• the future for local authorities

• Changes affecting related bodies (such as the DWP)

• The impact of overarching local authority legislation and finance

• The vision of those shaping change such as political parties and think-tanks

MONTHLY ONLINE BENEFIT NEWS UPDATES
Benefit reform and legislative changes are such key issues to local authority benefit administration that these updates, running in parallel, will keep subscribers up-to-date with new circulars, case law, legislative and policy changes and any other benefit related news.

Presenting these benefit update briefings is arvato Public Services’ Diane Turner and Mark Barry.

Diane and Mark are well-respected managers who operate over several different sites for three very different local authorities.

VISIONARY NETWORK FORUM
All subscribing authorities will be provided with a password to enable participation in the ‘Visionary Network Forum’. The forum allows discussion of general issues as well as those generated from the seminars, whilst also providing the facility for speakers to continue to inter act with attendees.

All seminars will be recorded and recordings will be downloadable from the forum
