Connecting the Local Criminal Justice Board And the Crime And Disorder Reduction Partnerships Agendas

The government drive for closer working of CDRPs and LCJBs has been highlighted in recently published guidance issued from The Home Office and the Office of Criminal Justice Reform (OCJR). In addition the recently published Crime and Disorder Act Review recommends the separation of strategic and operational functions of CDRPs which will facilitate closer working with LCJBs. 
This one day conference examines the government objectives for LCJBs as set out in Public Service Agreement 3 and the role of the CDRP in bringing more offences to justice and increase public confidence in the criminal justice system. The conference will focus on the recent guidance and the Crime and Disorder Act Review in relation to closer working of agencies in delivery of the safer communities agenda.

Conference Objectives:
 
  • To facilitate greater understanding of LCJB objectives and the role of CDRPs in supporting those objectives To explore best practice in developing strong working links between CDRPs and LCJBs. 
  • To examine the guidance to closer working between CDRPs and LCJBs issued by the Home Office and the Office of Criminal justice Reform 
  • To examine the impact on closer working between CDRPs and LCJBs of the recently published Crime and Disorder Act Review, the Police and Justice Bill and the emerging local area agreement agenda. 
  • To focus on the areas of common interest to CDRPs and LCJBs.
