The Government is placing great emphasis on achieving national delivery of safer communities. The Home Office has recently introduced the Home Office Public Service Agreements (PSAs) for the period 2005 to 2007/8 in order to drive the implementation of their challenging crime and disorder agenda.
The performance of local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships is crucial to achieving these targets, in particular PSA1 – the reduction of crime by 15%, and more in high crime areas.
This key one-day conference focuses on the local partnership role in meeting PSA1 targets. It will hear the Home Office expectations of partnerships and look at good practice in tackling key crime areas. It will also examine PSA1 in the context of Local Area Agreements and Local Strategic Partnerships. The conference will provide a forum for local partnerships to discuss targets with Home Office representatives and workshops will enable delegates to focus on reduction of crime types relevant to their communities.
The conference will also examine the measurement and evaluation of performance.
