The Police and
Justice Act 2006 introduced a series of minimum standards for
crime and disorder reduction partnerships, changing the previous
duty to produce an audit every three years to a requirement to
produce an annual partnership strategic intelligence assessment
(PSIA).
The PSIA should not only review patterns of crime and disorder
and substance isuse but also provide an assessment of the likely
future impacts of national and local social and economic
factors. Included within this are the effects of the economy,
policy developments, government initiatives and changes in
legislation.
This conference will explore emerging good practice as CDRPs
move into the production of their 3rd assessment in the autumn.
The conference will provide partnerships with an expert analysis
on some national impacts, agendas and policy change that they
should consider in planning CDRP strategy reviews and work
programmes in 2010/11.
Conference Objectives
-
To examine the objectives of the PSIA and how these can
inform strategic planning, the setting of priorities and
commissioning of delivery.
-
To look at national priorities that should be considered in
producing PSIAs and refreshed strategies for April 2010.
-
To focus on overarching agendas that will inform the PSIA
including the CONTEST anti-terrorism strategy and the
recommendations of the Laming Report.
-
To examine trends and crime patterns that feed into
strategic crime reduction planning including the impact of
the recession and changes in drug patterns.
-
To assist partnerships in assessing the likely future impact
of national, local, social and economic factors.
