The management of local authority CCTV
faces unprecedented challenges with reductions in public sector
budgets as well as regulatory changes in line with the
objectives of the coalition government to increase privacy and
roll back central and local government. Forthcoming regulation
of public sector CCTV as well as amendments to regulations
regarding data and usage of RIPA for covert surveillance, is
expected.
In the face of these forthcoming changes
some local authorities have already re-evaluated systems to take
account of budget savings, efficiency and privacy.
The 9th Annual Local Authority CCTV
conference focuses on the forthcoming changes and looks towards
good practise for public sector CCTV under future regulation and
budget reduction.
With large-scale change imminent, this is an important
conference for local authority CCTV Managers, Community Safety
Managers and police partners.
