The Fraud Book
The Fraud Book
Service was commissioned by the Local Government Association to
provide authorities with practical procedural anti-fraud advice and
templates for use by benefit administrators, assessment officers and
investigators. The service covers all areas of fraud investigation
from assessment through to prosecution
The service has three
main strands:
- a practical procedural manual
covering the prevention and detection of fraud within the
benefit administration process, including procedural tick lists
and policy templates;
- a website of the procedures,
guidance, templates and policies included in the manual which
may be downloaded to the authorities intranet or used online by
those involved in benefit fraud for guidance and reference;
- an update service to assist the
authority in ensuring that its procedures and guidance reflect
current legislation
.
The service provides
reference material for the individual officer as well as the basis
for internal anti-fraud training and the production of the local
authority’s individual anti-fraud operational procedures based on
the procedures and templates provided.
Currently over 200 local authorities
have subscribed to the service. If you require further information
regarding this service please contact Zoe Charlesworth on 0118 933
